Sinai Trek 2007
The first Balashram Trek through the Sinai desert was a great success both financially and operationally. Twenty seven trekkers including Baba Prajnananandaji spent a week trekking and sleeping under the stars to raisemoney for Balashram. The trek which included a climb to the top of Mount Sinai was physically challenging but provided a unique and beautiful experience that was enjoyed by all trekkers.
Here are just a few comments from those that took part:
“I was delighted to be given the opportunity to help disadvantaged children that would remain uneducated without our help”
“I had a wonderful time on the Trek. The desert is so peaceful and calm. I enjoyed sleeping in the Bedouin tents and being able to look at the stars. I also enjoyed the meditations and food .The group worked really well together too.”
“The event was like a continuous meditation. It was like flying on the clouds. One had a chance to feel God's presence intensely within and without. This was a holy pilgrimage with the holy Guruji. The nature was pure and wonderful. God and Gurus made it smooth and successful. I'm very grateful for this experience and I would encourage all the Kriyavan to participate in these most beautiful happenings.”
“It was an amazing trek. I think the interaction and atmosphere within the group was very good.I did not notice any dislike or irritations within the group and I felt really comfortable”
“Like Baba said on the last night, it was more a pilgrimage than a trek! Thank you very much”
“A breathtakingly extraordinary experience, a pilgrimage of the spirit”
“I really enjoyed the trek … it will leave a mark on us all.”
